Ozark Region

Anchor Operations Ozark Region Founded in 1987, Ozark provides drilling fluid services and equipment rentals to the active Arkoma Basin, which has produced gas for over 50 years, and the newly discovered Fayetteville Shale. Ozark provided Anchor with fast-track geographical expansion as the leading service provider for one of the most promising, emerging unconventional natural gas basins in the U.S.

Ozark has an excellent reputation and a very loyal customer base. The combination with Anchor has provided Ozark the capability to grow with the increasing activity and complexity of the Fayetteville Shale.

Since the shale activity began in 2004, Ozark has been the leading provider of drilling fluid solutions to operators in the Fayetteville Shale and has gained invaluable expertise as the rig count has continued to increase.

The shale is the geologic corollary to the prolific Barnett Shale in the Ft. Worth Basin and may extend across much of the state towards the Mississippi River. The shale was deposited 250 million years ago when northern Arkansas lay at the bottom of an ocean. Additional shale formations may also prove to be commercial above or below the Fayetteville.

Horizontal drilling exposes more of the target zone and, since shale reservoirs are known for low permeability, fracturing of the rock is required for maximum production rates. Refinement of horizontal drilling and fracturing technologies has enabled areas to be economical even in less attractive price environments.

Ozark is dedicated to providing the most qualified field engineering, distribution and technology support available and an experienced, horizontal organization to work jointly with the operator to customize the drilling fluids solutions and reduce overall operating costs.
