Operations

Anchor Operations Anchor Drilling Fluids USA, Inc. is driven by operator success and long standing relationships. Anchor is focused on providing customized fluids solutions, superior drilling fluid products and timely energy services in each of the most active conventional and unconventional domestic, land-drilled basins.

Anchor is proud to provide drilling fluids solutions and energy services to operators in the clean-burning, domestically-produced natural gas industry. Major areas of operation cover 10 states in the Mid Continent, Permian Basin, Arkansas, East Texas, North Texas and Rocky Mountain regions.

A tight natural gas supply/demand relationship exists today because of the significant structural challenges to grow supply and the growing demand for natural gas in the U.S. Drilling activity is required as the industry struggles to replace natural gas reserves that are declining at ever increasing rates as well as trending towards lower natural gas production per well. Additionally, a greater percentage of natural gas production is forecasted to be provided by unconventional resources such as shales and tight sands.

Although more than 70 percent of the natural gas produced in the United States already comes from wells at 5,000 feet or deeper, only seven percent comes from formations below 15,000 feet. Yet, at these deeper depths, an estimated 125 trillion cubic feet of natural gas is thought to be trapped.

For wells deeper than 15,000 feet, as much as 50 percent of drilling costs can be spent in penetrating the last 10 percent of a well's depth. Anchor welcomes these challenges and will provide the most qualified field engineering, management and support available, exact storage and distribution capabilities, proper technology and an effective, horizontal organization to work jointly with the operator to improve efficiencies and reduce overall operating costs.
